Three come along at once

You know what it’s like, you wait ages for an update and then…

So firstly, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ll be making our live radio debut on the deXter Bentley Hello GoodBye show on Resonance 104.4 FM.

We’re on air from midday on Saturday 14th November; if you don’t live in London, or you don’t have an old wireless set, you can tune in online at https://www.resonancefm.com

Secondly, we’re very pleased to tell you that we’ll be playing at Big Pink Cake’s Christmas All-Dayer on Saturday 12th December, at the Betsey Trotwood, in Clerkenwell, in That London.

There’s a great line up, including The Felt Tips and Catenary Wires, tickets for the whole day-long shebang cost only £15, so you should absolutely, definitely be there. Tickets available HERE– there are only 47 left at time of writing so book now!

Thirdly, we’re just putting the finishing touches to our forthcoming EP, ‘Those Unfortunates We Are’, and it’ll be available with the next edition of our bandzine, ‘Like London Buses’. That’s a bit of the artwork at the top of this post. More details coming very soon…

And just in case you’ve forgotten, we’ll be appearing this Hallowe’en Night at Cigarette Burns Cinema’s monster all-nighter at Regent Street Cinema, performing our horrific cover versions of some Brit-horror tunes. Tickets are still available here, if you’re quick…

Hallows. Is it screams you’re looking for?

The sun may be shining today. Death, purgatory and corporal corruption may be far from your mind as the scent of late summer barbeques still wafts on the breeze.

But they await us all. Prepare your soul today, while the sun still shines.

And what better way to prepare it than by booking a ticket to Cigarette Burns’ all–celluloid, no–digital, All Hallow’s Eve all–nighter, at the birthplace of British cinema, the Regent Street Cinema in London?

THOSE UNFORTUNATES will be on hand to help you through the dark watches of the night, book–ending each film with their interpretation of tunes from Brit-horror classics like Scream and Scream Again and The Monster Club along with tracks of their own.

Tickets are available NOW from Regent Street Cinema- be there, or ponder on your foolishness for all eternity….

Goodbye 12 Bar Club

So it looks like that was probably the last gig at the old 12 Bar Club on

Denmark Street, at least in the guise that we know and love. Ben’s written about his experience on his blog here, and you can get a mosh-pit’s eye view on YouTube below, thanks to our label mates Walk Upright.

The fight to save Denmark Street, St Giles and Soho from death by disneyfication continues, courtesy of our hosts Bohemians 4 Soho and the wider Save Soho campaign; we hope we can lend a hand again soon.

October Update

Hello to anyone who might have found us via Tom Robinson’s  BBC 6 Music Mixtape or via Fresh On The Net.

We’re honoured and flattered to have been picked out as a fave by Tom, who says some kind words about us here.

If you’re new to us, you might not know that we’ve recorded three cassette EPs since forming last year- you can listen to the full length tracks for free on Bandcamp, and download them to keep for less than a quid each. There might even still be some of the limited edition tapes left for sale.

Our first proper release is being pressed in Hamburg at the moment, it’s a split seven inch with our friends Walk Upright. Our side features our nonsense song ‘Arthur Lowe’. Twice. Because it’s only short, and we wanted you to get your money’s worth. It’ll be out in the New Year, details to follow.

January update

It’s been a little while since our last update here, as we work hard behind the scenes to make UnLondon a reality. You can find the latest at www.unlondon.org, where you can also reserve tickets- though thanks to an overwhelming response we’re very close to total capacity.

Meanwhile, we’re pleased to announce that our second EP, ‘Those Men’ will be available to buy on limited edition cassette tape (with digital download code) at UnLondon, and as a digital download only from Bandcamp from the 25th January.
